What do we actually know about China? We have heard about the Great Wall and the Terracotta warriors; we have seen the skyline in Shanghai, we know that Hongkong is nearby and it is part of China (or not?); that the language is called mandarin and it is quite hard to learn…

The news are filled with reports on pollution, corruption, human rights issues and Chinese people live around us in many European cities. They live in their communities, run their restaurants and shops but in reality most of us have never had a conversation with a Chinese person.

Most of us would never consider visiting this amazing place, we think we know that it is not for us.

The truth is nobody really knows what to expect from China, it is a great mystery.
